Marilyn & family,
So sorry to hear of Everett's passing. I remember how you both welcomed myself and Jennika in your home. I remember you both took Jennika camping with you and your granddaughter at Golden Sands. Everett told me it was time to teach Jennika how to make a sandwich! He was always looking out for everybody. Cherish your memories together.

Marilyn,
I was so deeply saddened to hear of Everett's passing. I am so very sorry. Everett was such a wonderful man. He possessed the personal and professional qualities that many of us can only hope to aspire to. He left a favourable impression upon all he had contact with and all he served. Everett was a consummate professional who provided a valued, dedicated and compassionate service to the RCMP, the communities in which he served, and the Country. I truly enjoyed working with Everett both in NS and during his time here in NL. Everett possessed a great wit and charm that will be dearly missed yet never forgotten. My deepest sympathy is with you and your family.

Marilyn,
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the loss of a great man! I have such great memories of Everett, my first supervisor!! Our shift always had so much fun and got the job done!! He was the type of supervisor who was always willing to get out of the office and respond to calls with us! I have so many memories of our time working together in Marystown!! Both you and Everett took all of us newbies under your wing and looked after us! I remember Everett telling me one shift that we were like his own kids and he cared and worried about us!! This meant so much to me being all the way across the country from home! He will be missed! Hugs to you Marilyn!

Everett was my first supervisor in Marystown . I fondly remember working with shift with him.. Despite his service and rank, he never had any issue getting his hands dirty during work and rock the shift with the young fellers (who now are becoming old fellers BTW) I always admired his work ethic and drive. Sad to hear this news. Everett was a great man. Condolences to Marilyn and family.. Troy

I was saddened today to hear of the passing of Everett. We were RCMP recruit members of Troop 16 and trained together in 1974/75. Everett was an important and respected member of the troop 16. I had the pleasure of being his partner during recruit driver training. We had some good laughs and stories together. I liked his sense of humour and his positive outlook.
Although we went our separate ways after graduation I have fond memories of the time I spent with Everett. My condolences to the family on the loss of a fine and honourable man.

I spent a most interesting weekend with Everett and Marilyn on McNabs Island many years ago. The Halifax Search and Rescue Team was supporting Everett and a large contingent of Venturer Scouts who were having an Outdoor Adventure Training weekend with kids from far and wide. What made the weekend so memorable was that we got stuck in a thunder storm loop. For hours on end we had torrential rains, thunder and lightning like we had never seen before. Everett was transporting people back and forth to the mainland on a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB). My wife Sherry and I spent most of the weekend in a makeshift communications tent, up on a hill coordinating with the various volunteers working the event. At one point we noticed that suddenly our hair, (I had some back then), stood up on end. I looked at my wife, she looked at me and we tore out of the tent just in time to witness a huge lighting bolt and tremendous clap of thunder almost knock us off our feet. It rained so hard that it was reported to have class 3 rapids down one of the walking paths. Despite the terrible weather, it was a very enjoyable experience. Everett really made the weekend for everyone. The kids had a great time and we all came back safe, although a little damp. I also had the pleasure to work with Everett during the Swiss Air event. Thank you Everett for your service.

When Everett passed, I lost a good friend. We spent time together since he grew up in East Noel and I grew up in Burncoat. We hung out at school, at cubs, and weekends running the roads. Since we lived across Cobequid Bay from one another, we used Morse code to communicate, signaling with our outside lights. When Everett and Marilyn married, they took my car on their honeymoon to foil the "decorators" of his. He was a wonderful guy and a good friend. So sorry he is gone.
