To The Joyce Family,
I am honored to have had the opportunity to get to know members of the Joyce family, after becoming close friends with Mandy near the start of our nursing careers. It has always been clear, that the Joyce’s are a welcoming family, full of love, and acceptance.
Steve would do anything for his daughters, his love for them unmatched. When I met Steve, he lived up to his reputation- joyous, charming, and not afraid to tell you how it is! He will be greatly missed, and never forgotten for the lasting impact he had on the lives of all who knew him.
Love to you Brenda, Mandy, and Jenna.

Heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you as we grieve the loss of a wonderful, kind human being and friend. Growing up in Milford, I was fortunate to have spent all my school years with Stevie. He was a permanent fixture at our house. We grew up together and he was very much like a big brother. I remember so many conversations about his stutter. As kids, it was more pronounced and when he got excited it got worse. Although frustrating for him, we had many laughs about it. After all, it was just one of the many things that made Stevie Stevie. Always had a smile and a kind word. Lived life the way he wanted. And with who he wanted. Brenda, you were absolutely the light and love of his life. Along with his daughters. You are so blessed to have spent so many happy times together, to have so many wonderful memories. I was lucky enough to have worked my last years with the Airlines beside Stevie. To come back to Halifax and see none other than Stevie at the Air Canada Cargo counter (most likely with his feet up on it!) was a great moment! He will be remembered for his never ending grin. The world (and work place)was better with Stevie in it. Keep all your wonderful memories close and he will never be far away.
Rest in peace, Stevie

Elsie, Les, Lori, Brenda, & girls,
I was shocked to learn of Steve's passing. I grew up "on the hill" with Steve plus I worked with his Dad at Nova Scotia Sand & Gravel & went to school with him. Steve was an awesome person. A couple memories with Steve that I remember & will always remember them. One morning Steve, Les, & I were waiting for the school bus & Les was teasing Steve & Steve was so mad his face was red. Then you would hear Elsie yell "Les stop teasing your brother". The other one was at our high school graduation. I sat 2 seats away from him. I looked over at him & here he was taking a drink of liquor. Not sure what it was but I said to him, Steve where did you get that & don't get got with it. He said I won't get caught & the next thing you know the bottle is empty! Great memories of a friend that was taken too soon. My thoughts & prayers are with you all. Remembering the memories will help you through this sad time as will family, & friends. Steve is now an "Angel" that will watch over his family from above. Take care of each other as Steve would want you to. Take care & stay safe,

Dear Brenda, Mandy, Jenn and Families… I am shocked and saddened to hear of Stevie’s sudden passing. He truly was one of a kind. I have so many memories going back to the early days when he and Brenda were dating, and we went to the camp and had our infamous full contact game of spoons night …Brenda flew across the table and clotheslined Steve to make sure he didn’t get her spoon. Years later, when we both had started our families and I ended up being the girls “nanny” one of our favourite lunchtime traditions was the Stevie Joyce special that consisted of frozen hashbrowns and hotdogs. All of the kids still talk about it today. Sending hugs and love to you all….Crystal (Chrissy)

We are so very sorry to hear that Stevie has left this world. What an awesome man he was. He seemed to make it his mission in life to put a smile on the face of those around him.
A vivid childhood memory was a group of us playing together at the Milford Recreation Centre. Stevie found a snake and chased me with it, and was shocked to learn that it didn’t phase me in the least. He was full of mischief, and loved a good laugh. His endless teasing brought lots of fun for those fortunate enough to call him a friend.
Rest easy Stevie. We will miss you so very much.

Brenda, Jenna, Mandy and Family
Steve really was one of a kind. I consider myself lucky to have had the chance to work with him for so many years. He was a colleague, but more importantly, a friend. I will miss hearing that infectious laugh and seeing that smile.
He will be missed terribly by so many people but I can promise he will never forgotten. His memory will continue to make people smile ….. even through the tears.
