Obituary of Celton Evan Phillip MacPherson

Please share a memory of Celton to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

MacPHERSON, Celton Evan Phillip, age 24 of Nepean, ON, formerly of Chaswood, NS, died suddenly on December 13, 2022. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Doug  MacPherson and Karen Grace.

Celton was a wonderful son who brought joy to any room he entered. He approached everyday with a zest for life and passion. He was the biggest fan of all his family and friends. He loved to cheer them on at the hockey rink while making friends with hockey families from the East Hants Penguins and Nepean Minor Hockey. He was a participant and proud fundraiser for Motionball Marathon of Sport Ottawa for Special Olympics Ontario. Celton loved the Toronto Bluejays and Ottawa Senators (especially when they beat The Leafs, Habs or Bruins). Meeting his favorite Hockey player, Sidney Crosby at home in Nova Scotia remains one of his favorite memories and picture to show the people he met.

He graduated from Saint Mother Teresa High School where he was a proud member of the drama club. His accompaniments include acting in Peter Pan, A Christmas Carol and  Radium Girls. He waited each year for the trip to Cappies to celebrate all the secondary school performances. His recent educational endeavor was in the Adaptive Learning Program with OCDSB. He was in a job placement at Winners. He enjoyed bicycling the area around Barrhaven and walking his dogs. He always had Gunther or Chunk close to his heels and his cat Yoshi on his lap. He loved to spend time fishing, boating or swimming when he returned home to Nova Scotia. In the hours since his passing there have been tears from Nova Scotia to Ottawa. Celton shined brighter, smiled bigger and hugged deeper than anyone. His zest for life and people endeared him to people everywhere he went. During his short time on Earth he loved harder and touched so many people. He will be missed terribly by family and friends, especially his closest friends, Billy, Tyler and Skylar. Besides his parents, Celton is survived by Stepdad Joe Grace and Stepmom Marsha MacPherson; brother Lachlan MacPherson; half brother Khaden Grace and step brother Andrew Stewart; Paternal grandparents Murdock and Pearl MacPherson; Maternal Grandparents John and Martha Barr and Tony and Arleen Taylor. He is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and numerous extended friends and family.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial has been held in Ottawa.
