Obituary of Alfred Joseph Chiasson

CHIASSON, Alfred Joseph-age 82 of Shubenacadie formerly of Lantz, passed away November 19, 2020 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ernestine (Gallant) Chiasson.

Alfred served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 29 years and the Federal Public Service for 12 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 48 in Elmsdale. He was very creative and would often build things he required.  He was a tinkerer and loved working in his garage and was very meticulous. Alfred was very kind, always with a smile and willing to lend a helping hand.

He will be missed by daughters, Monique (Daryl) Masterson, BC; Michelle (Trevor) Langille, Shubenacadie; grandchildren, Amy Masterson, Ashley Chiasson and Morgan Langille; great granddaughter, Cali Harris; brothers, Guy and Paul; sisters  Maria (Raymond) Coutre, Jeannette Chiasson, Diane (Bernie) Matte and Mariette (Wayne) Mullins; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn; brothers, Patrick and Andrew

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.

A funeral service will be held 4 PM Saturday, August 28th, 2021 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie.  Deacon Wilfred Boudreau officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home hospitality area.

Donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Society.
