Our heartfelt and deepest condolences to both the Cole Family and Hines Family. Life can be wonderful but it also can be heartbreaking and cruel. We watched the video of Derek and how he had grown into a fine family man. We remember him as a child, visiting his grandmother Helen, such a sweet boy. I knew Derek most of my life. Although we haven't seen each other in many years, I have some incredible fond memories of him. We played on several hockey teams together. He was one of the tough guys on the team, playing the Cole brand of hockey. It was always great to have him on your team. We also spent many weekends camping in the small community of cabins back at Cousins Lake. The long 4 wheeler runs and late night parties. It's not right when good people are taken at such a young age. My deepest condolences to Derek's family, I can't imagine your grief.
