Obituary of Bruce Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Dr. G. Bruce Edward, age 63, of Enfield, Nova Scotia, passed away suddenly on May 21, 2020. Bruce was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick on August 30, 1956, the beloved son of the late Mr. Justice H. Edward Montgomery and the late Mary Louise (Hay) Montgomery of Fredericton, NB.

 

Bruce was a family man first. He was happiest around his wife, Lillian, and his girls, Elizabeth and Mary, enjoying boating with family and friends, water skiing, barbecuing, and summer trips to the family cottage on Skiff Lake, NB. He enjoyed annual ski trips with close friends, hockey, and running marathons. His kindness and love for life brightened the lives of everyone he met. Bruce loved being a family doctor. His colleagues and patients at the Elmsdale Medical Centre brought him great joy over his long medical career.

 

Bruce will be sadly missed by his wife of 33 years, Lillian (Marks) Montgomery, daughters Elizabeth Montgomery of Dartmouth, NS and Mary Montgomery (Connor McGuire) of Halifax, NS, sisters Janice “Jan” Montgomery of Fredericton, NB and Jennifer Mills (Bernie) and nephew and niece Alex and Sophia Mills of Calgary, AB, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Elaine and Richard Lee of McKinney, TX, and nephews and niece Richard, Jon, and Catherine Lee, cousin Jim Crocco (Kath) of Skiff Lake, NB, Aunt Elizabeth “Bibby” Knight (David) of Collingwood, ON, and all of his wonderful family and friends.

 

Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions, a public funeral service will not be held at this time.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
