Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
PEARCE, Richard “Ricky”- age 51 of Clayton Park, formerly of Shubenacadie East. It is with great sadness, that the family announces the unexpected, but peaceful passing of Richard “Ricky” Edward Pearce at home on December 17, 2019. He was born in Truro on July 4, 1968 and raised in Shubenacadie East. Ricky had a heart of gold and a twinkle in his eyes when he smiled and laughed. He teased and joked with those that knew him well. Ricky enjoyed get togethers with friends, their beach trips, dinner plans, watching movies, trips to the library and chatting on the phone with his sister, Maggie and father, Bobby. He loved animals, especially cats. His kindness and love of animals was evident when he befriended and cared for a stray cat in his neighbourhood. His concern for her where abouts when she would disappear occasionally was proof of his kind and gentle heart. Ricky’s memory will live on and he will be deeply missed by many. He is survived by his father, Robert “Bobby” William Pearce, Shubenacadie East; mother, Patricia Tye, Dartmouth; sisters, Margaret-Ann “Maggie” Pearce (Douglas), Saint John, NB; Michelle Pearce, Truro; Heather Parker (Steve), Sault St. Marie, ON; brothers, Patrick Tye (Tanya), Sackville, NB; Robert Pearce Jr., Annapolis Valley; Frank Brimicombe (Christa), Fort Ellis; John Brimicombe, Shubenacadie East; numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Elinora “Norah” Pearce (nee Miller); stepmother, Vivian Taylor; grandparents, Paul and Alta Taylor, several aunts and uncles; nephew, Bret Brimicombe. The family would like to thank the support staff at Metro Community Housing Association of Halifax for their special care and compassion shown to Ricky through the years and a very special thank you to Devin Deveau for his friendship and care of Ricky. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. He wished only to have his ashes spread and the family will honor these wishes. Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia SPCA, PO Box 38073, Stn. Burnside, NS B3B 1X2 or Metro Community Housing Association, 7071 Bayers Road #280, Halifax, NS B3L 2C2 Condolences, words of comfort and memories of Ricky may be shared with the family at www.ettingerfuneralhome.com
