Obituary of Elizabeth Catherine Gehue

GEHUE, Elizabeth Catherine- age 77, of Indian Brook.  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother on October 24, 2019 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

“Old Gram” as she was well known by everyone was born in Truro to the late Michael and Mary (Sylliboy) Sack.  Old Gram was always giving and full of fun and always had a pot of tea on.  She enjoyed bingo, gambling and yard sales.  She also loved her Montreal Canadians and everything relating to Elvis.  She was an avid sports fan of all her grandchildren.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Germaine Gould, Membertou, Georgina, Stephanie “Ginger” (George) Dennis and Charmaine “Wendy”, all of Indian Brook; sons, Stevie “Hound”, Indian Brook, Gabriel “Moochie” (Olwyn), Halifax, Patrick “Patty-boy” (Colleen), St. John’s, Nfld., Sheldon “Wheeler”, Indian Brook; sisters Harriett Knockwood and Shirley Sack, both of Indian Brook; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; several godchildren.

Besides her parents, “Old Gram” was predeceased by her husband Steve Gehue Sr.; sisters, Evelyn Sack and Sue Knockwood; brother Louis “Sog” Sack; grandson, Sammy Gehue; great grandson, Elijah Julian.

Visitation will begin 2 pm Friday, October 25^th at 10 Burma Road, Indian Brook.  A funeral service will be held 10 am Monday, October 28^th in St. Kateri Catholic Church, Indian Brook with Father Ron Cairns, Celebrant.
