Obituary of Mark Lawrence Howe

HOWE, Mark Lawrence – age 60, of Indian Brook, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on October 20, 2019 at home. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Victoria Howe Higgins and the late Clarence Knockwood.

Mark was always willing to help anyone in need. He showed a lot of respect for his community and the elders there. Mark was well liked and a fun guy to be around. He could find something in common with anyone and had many friends. He served three years in the US Army, having been posted to Germany and subsequently was honourably discharged.

Mark is survived by his mother, Victoria; stepfather, Patrick Higgins; wife, Sheila; son, Shane; daughter, Vanessa; granddaughter, Evelyn; sister, Louise Paul and her four children; many half brothers and sisters; his mother-in-law Melda (Mike) Morash; and a large extended family. 

Mark was predeceased by his father, Clarence; brother, Clarence; sister, Anne Margaret.

Visitation will be held beginning at noon Tuesday, October 22nd    at 96 Meadow Drive, Indian Brook until funeral mass to be held 11am Thursday, October 24th in St. Kateri Catholic Church, Indian Brook with Father Ron Cairns, Celebrant.

Cremation will follow the service. Interment will be at a later date. A meal and Salite will be held in the community hall following the funeral.
