To the family,
I have met Ed when (as a newly graduated meteorologist) I got posted in Halifax-Bedford back in early 1984. Ed was one of the senior shift supervisor I was reporting to, and of course he was responsible for coaching and mentoring me. As a francophone, the presence of Ed, his kind manner and good humour, made it quite easy for us to adapt and learn. Ed was a caring man, for his family but for his colleagues as well. I can say that this good man is one of the reason why I surmounted the difficulty to adapt to this new environment... which allowed me to make it all the way to be one the Director General of the Meteorological Service of Canada. Ed made a difference; he made a difference for all of us and he will be remembered.
My sincere condolences to the family, et bon courage pour la suite des choses
Michel Jean

Ed was a supervisor of mine when I first went to the Maritimes Weather Centre in Bedford in 1982-83. He always made the shift interesting with his unique story-telling abilities. He often spoke of his children and I could tell how proud he was of you and his home. You must miss him dearly. He will not be forgotten by all his many friends and coworkers at the Meteorological Service of Canada (Atmospheric Environment Service back in those days).

Our sincere condolences to the Guimond family. Mr Guimond was such a friendly and welcoming man to me as I was growing up in Waverley. I remember my Dad (Gordon Hogan) and Mr. Guimond having travelled together to the airport weather office and sharing their good times together.
I also remember playing with Marcel and Bibo all the time when we were kids and have such great memories with them and their the family.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all!

We remember Mr Guimond, as we used to call him, as very kind, cheerful and fun to be around, as well as the whole family. I remember all the Waverley variety shows where the Guimond family performed so well. So many memories - he was one of the founding fathers, along with Dad, Gordon Hogan, of Cheema Aquatic Club and I think they also had many laughs together at the weather office. Our condolences to the whole family. Bryan and Jackie Parks

Dear Guimonds, family, and community:
This is such a hard loss. I only met Ed once but knew him through his children to be deeply kind and gracious. He will be sorely missed by everyone who ever knew him.

So sorry to read of Ed's passing. I first met Ed back in the early 70's when I transferred to Halifax Weather Office. In later years, he occasionally travelled with me from Bedford to Lantz so I had gotten to know him quite well over the years.
Ed was an exceptional person and was one of a kind. He had such a great personality and everyone liked him.
Please accept my sincere condolences: Layton Carter
