Obituary of L. Allan Parker

PARKER, L. Allan – age 77, of Belnan, passed away May 3, 2019 in the Palliative Care Unit, V.G., Halifax.  Born in Shubenacadie East, he was a son of the late Lawson “Tom” and Peace (Taylor) Parker.

Allan graduated from the Nova Scotia Technical College (Dalhousie) in 1967 with a degree in mechanical engineering.  He retired from the Nova Scotia Department of Energy, having devoted a lot of attention to climate change across Canada and around the world.  He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed his fifth wheel.  He and his wife were camp hosts for 9 years.

Allan is survived by his wife, Jane (Fraser); children, Andrew (Jody); Allison; dear cousin, Mildred Weatherup.

He was predeceased by his parents; infant brother, Arthur; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Love Taylor; paternal grandparents, Bessie and Robert Parker.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.  A visitation and reception will take place Tuesday, May 7th from 2 - 4 pm in Riverview United Church, Elmsdale.

Donations in Allan’s memory may be made to Riverview United Church or to a charity of your choice.
