Obituary of Brian Stephen Oliver

OLIVER, Brian Stephen – age 67, of Georgefield, passed away surrounded by his family in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on April 26, 2019. Born in Toronto, ON, he was a son of the late Barry and Uena (Mccrea) Oliver.

Brian worked in the forestry industry for many years as well as an orderly in various nursing homes for over 20 years. He had a love for life and a quick wit. Brian was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his time with his family and looked forward to family gatherings. He was a great story teller and loved to entertain, offering his wisdom freely.

Brian is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary “Pinky”; daughters, Amanda (Matt) Meredith, Joan (Tony) Oliver, Emily Grace (John) Oliver; son, Barry Oliver; grandchildren, Brent, Paul, Brandon, Becca, Liam; several extended family members in Ontario.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Catherine MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home hospitality area. Interment to follow in Five Mile River Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at VON, the Maitland Fire Department, the attending ER staff at CEHHC, and Jon and Jolene for all of their help.
