Obituary of Rita Mary Evans

EVANS, Rita - age 83, Indian Brook, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Lennox Island, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Bernard.

Rita took great joy in being a long time member of both the Indian Brook Elders Support Group and the VON Adult Program. 

She is survived by sons, Raymond (Sue), We’Koqma’q, Clarence (Denise), Indian Brook; many grandchildren and three great grandchildren; brother, Frank Bernard; godson Norman Bernard, Presque Isle, Maine, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by son, Dennis Evans; brothers, John Bernard, Ernest Bernard; sister Lena Bernard.

Visitation will be held 2-4 &7-9 pm, Tuesday and 2-4 &7-9 pm, Wednesday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral service will be held 2pm, Thursday, March 28, in St. Kateri Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook, Father Ron Cairns officiating. Interment in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Indian Brook. Meal to follow at the Community Centre.
