Obituary of Marie Terese Drew

DREW (WIGHTLY), Marie Terese -   age 77, of Sipekne’Katik First Nation, passed away October 31, 2018 at home. Born in Antigonish she was a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Cremo) Wightly.

An avid seamstress and handicrafts person, Marie spent many hours lovingly making Mi’kmaq regalia and star blankets for family and friends. Marie also loved playing bingo, talking to and visiting friends and family, and she especially loved her coffee. Always a generous heart, Marie will be missed by a world of people.

Marie is survived by her children, Suzanne Marie Drew, Theresa Ann Drew, Ronald Francis Drew and Joseph Lawrence Drew; grandchildren, Brook Crystal Marie Lontine, Steven Joseph Drew; great grandchild, Christian Lontine; sisters, Anita Frances (Wightly) Kelley, Jean Catherine (Wightly) Fitzpatrick.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Joseph Drew.

Visitation will be held at her home 40 Meadow Road, Indian Brook, Sipekne’katik, from 2pm, Friday, November 2 until time of service on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Funeral Mass 2pm, Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in St. Kateri Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook, Father Ron Cairns celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date.
