I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to have met Roger (and Yvonne) over the years of working for the phone company where I would get an opportunity to show them the new things their devices could do. It was always a pleasure to meet with both of them, and the world is poorer to be without them to be certain. My condolences to his family and all the community he leaves behind.

The memory that sticks into my head the most about your father was at Christmas time many years ago. I had just got my first pair of snowshoes and your father and I were looking at them and he was explaining to me how to use them correctly and preserve them, so they will not get damaged. That was over 30 years ago, and I still have the same snowshoes and they are still like they were when I first got them.
Sorry for your loss Denise and Marcel, both your parents are great people and always made me feel like I was part of the family.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of “The Apple Man”. He was always a welcome sight in our home. The apples (and other fruit) always tasted so good! We would first receive, then give, the call to let people down the line know “The Apple Man” was in the area, as no-one wanted to miss him. Thoughts and prayers to his family. Dear Denise and Marcel and Family:
Please accept our prayers of comfort and condolence following the passing of your father.
Growing up in Shubenacadie, just down the road from your parents place on Conley Hill, I remember your father stopping in to see Mom and Dad, often in his Lands and Forest uniform...he seemed so tall and official back then, especially to a young fella like me.
Another memory involved your entire family. As part of a Christmas tradition, all of you would come over to Mom & Dad’s place after midnight mass at St. Bridget’s. My mother, Lucy would serve her homemade meat pie and Nanaimo squares, and Dad would serve up various adult refreshments, and mom would show your parents some of her Cheticamp hooked rugs she was working on. They shared many good times playing cards with plenty of conversation and laughs from days in Cape Breton...usually spoken in French which I didn’t fully understand (lol).
Those were the good old days and some of the best memories I have of Roger and Yvonne. Ellen and I were so happy to have spent time with your father during his last days.
God Bless your father as he goes to his final resting place, and may the love of family and friends comfort you in the days ahead.
Peace & Prayers,
Victor & Ellen and Family

Denise and family, on behalf of the "Elmsdale Legion Care-Actors", please know that each of us hold a special place in our hearts for your father. He was a very special addition to our little theatre group. His gentleness, talent, and warm smile was appreciated by everyone. I can remember one special moment when he was trying to find my "key" while I was rehearsing a song. He asked, "Gennie what key would you like to sing this song in?" I responded, "Roger, I don't know, maybe you could just listen as I sing and find my key". After listening to my "singing", he shyly commented, "Gennie, I don't think that is a key!" I will always cherish my memories of spending time with Roger. There is one more angel in heaven.

Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your father. Roger was a well loved and dedicated employee to the Department of Lands and Forests, and later renamed Natural Resources a few years prior to his retirement. Warmly remembered as the 'Gentle Giant', he was instrumental in setting the foundation of what is now a high quality and respected Wildfire Team in our Department, with a reputation nation-wide. In the early days, every employee was required to help with forest fires, so they knew him and he knew them. I had the pleasure of working with your father for a few years before he left the Shubie Fire Control Center. It was an honour that I, and the many staff who knew him much longer, will long remember.
