Obituary of Gwendolyn Louise MacPhee
MacPHEE, Gwendolyn Louise – age 81 of North Salem, passed away October 1, 2018 in the Cumberland Regional Health Centre, Amherst with her family by her side.
Born in Hennigars, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Reita (White) Miller.
She enjoyed spending time with her two great-grandchildren Scarlett McCready and Tucker Schofield; summers at Karen’s cottage in Port Howe with all her beach buddies, bowling, dancing, sewing, quilting, a good game of cards, her flower gardens and time with family & friends.
She will be sadly missed by children, Harlen (Sandra), Valerie (James) Russell, Darren (Lisa), Cindy(Steven) Schofield and Karen; grandchildren, Christopher (Cindy) Russell, Nicole (Matt) Russell, Brittney (Zac) MacPhee, Luke (Jonnie) Schofield, Josh (Candace) Schofield and Rachel (Jacob) MacPhee; great-grandchildren Scarlett McCready and Tucker Schofield; brothers Merlyn, Tommy, Stanley, Herbert and Randall; sisters Debra and Susan.
She was predeceased by her husband Herb, brothers Ronald and Vance, sister Caroline White.
Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of Ettinger Funeral Home.
Visitation will take place 2-4 pm Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.
A graveside service will be held 11 am Friday in Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village, Rev. Martin Reid officiating.
A reception will follow at the Shubenacadie Legion. Donations in memory may be made to Brookside Cemetery.
Special thanks to Dr. David Sheehy, Dr. Stephen Couban and his hematology team, Dr. Beltran and the emergency nurses at Cumberland Regional Health Centre, VON for their exceptional care of our mother during her illness.
