So sorry to hear of Dennis' passing. I knew Dennis from the Canadian Airlines days. As a new hire back then, I only met Dennis a few times. He brought out the very best work ethic in his employees because everyone respected him as a Manager. Keep your memories close and he will never be far away.

Jenni, Carol and Family,
I was so sad to hear of Dennis' passing. My thoughts are with you at this time. I will never forget how seriously he took our parent-daughter soccer games - showing up in full gear and making it look easy. He played harder than anyone else and ran circles around us girls and the other parents. It is a wonderfully humorous memory!
I wish you peace in this difficult time and a joyful congrats on baby William.

We knew and loved Dennis in two separate ways, the first was through the Military where we shared one or two “harrowing” moments, which we later came to laugh about. Secondly, as a Family, after Dennis and Carol moved to Nova Scotia.
A friendship that evolves from the earliest possible connection “under fire” to being basically an extended Family is something we will never forget, but always treasure. Friends like Dennis only say “Yes” without hesitation, and these people are few and far apart.
Never forgotten, always respected and loved.

I was saddened to hear of Dennis's passing. He will always be remembered by me as a happy jovial person. Dennis and I worked together at DNR where he was the fire tower operator at Meaghers Grant . Always enjoyed his stories of his life experiences and sharing his knowledge of aviation . I still have the bottle of wine ( empty ) he gave me with the picture of the Johnson Hill fire tower on the label. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Rest in peace Dennis.

Carol and Families, Our thoughts and prayers are with you all now and in the days that follow. We've known Dennis for 18 years and he was a great neighbor and friend, always there to lend a helping hand. I've learned a lot from Dennis over those years and one that always comes to mine is what the term "on the rocks" meant and we still have a laugh over that one. He was very proud father and it showed. He will be dearly missed by all including by Frisky who was spoiled by all the doggie treats. All I have to say is "g e n t l e young fella" and Rest in Peace my friend.

I am so sorry to learn of Dennis's passing. He was such a nice man. Like Scottie and so many others who have written here my connection with him goes back to his Goose Bay days. He was the manager that hired me with Eastern Provincal. I will admit that the deciding factor for him to hire me was probably that Dennis curled and my father was often the spare that got drafted to his team. A good curler was top notch with Dennis!
Over the past couple years it was a pleasure to see him with Carol as they stood by to go to Gander or St. John's. Dennis may have lost his ability to speak but his big smile and warm hugs said everything. To all the Horsfall family may all your good memories and the love you shared give you comfort. Rest in Peace Dennis

My sympathies to the family! I was an employee of EPA and Canadian Airlines and worked under Dennis for many years. I had the utmost respect for him and enjoyed my time at the airline. I hope you know that other share in your grief and having recently lost my own father, I can appreciate the void he has left in your lives. He was a good man!

Dennis and Carol were good friends and neighbours for many years. When we lived in Lantz Dennis, Guy Annable and myself would meet on a Saturday night and drink a bottle of Scotch or Rye in Dennis's case. We would talk and argue for hours and refight the wars between Scotland and England. We will miss him.

Carol, Jennifer and Family,
We were saddened this morning to see Dennis has past.
We talked this morning about the Guy Fawkes bonfires and fireworks that he held in your backyard for the neighbours and the pond was generously available for the neighbourhood kids to enjoy, day and night for many years while our kids grew up, fond memories for them, as Mike put it this morning, A Fine Man. Mike shared with me his last time he saw Dennis before he left in the Fall, Mike was out for his run and Dennis's hat had blown of his head, Mike retreived it and Dennis gave him his wave that we will remember him by.
I hope you know you are in our thoughts at this difficult time.

To Carol and family,
I am deeply saddened by the news if Dennis's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Dennis for7 years in Halifax Reservations. May the many wonderful memories you have created over over the years along with the love and support of family and friends sustain you all in the days and months ahead. Sincerely Lillian

Dear Carol and Jennifer:
I was shocked and saddened by the news in the paper this morning. I have fond memories of Dennis's hospitality at your home and our trips to Cape Breton and Cumberland County. I still remember Dennis finding all those golf balls in the rain. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend visitation as I will be in Digby at a curling tournament for four days. Dennis would approve. Please accept my most sincere condolences and hugs for the days ahead. Life is precious and Dennis lived it well.

I have so many fond memories as a little girl at your home, fireworks, bonfires, good food, and Dennis and Norrie telling stories of the good old days while Jennifer taught me how to use the computer. I will never forget the image of Dennis sitting back in a chair, arms crossed resting on his belly, or the kindness of your entire family. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to spend time with him. Please accept our sincere condolences on your loss - Dennis and I were part of the same
EPA training class back in June - 1969 at the Gander Hotel... We had many a laugh then and in later years as we both continued our career with EPA - leading up to the formation of Canadian Airlines International. When we last met and even though we could not communicate He still had His smile and Sense of Humor. RIP My Friend... Mike / Eleanor Ryan.
