MacPHEE, Gordon -age 69 of MacKay Siding (Stewiacke), formerly of Shubenacadie, passed away June 17, 2017 in the VG Site of the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax. Born in Windsor, he was a son of the late James and Daisy (Grant) MacPhee. Gordon was a founding member of the Shubenacadie Fire Dept, and a long standing member of the Shubenacadie Lions Club. He was a long haul trucker for many years, eventually founding his own company, Timely Transport, which he co-owned and operated until his retirement. Not one to sit still, he kept busy working for a local golf course. Gordon built 3 of his family homes, enjoyed woodworking and was able to repair almost anything. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years Pat (Courtney), son, Sean(Karen); daughter, Vicki (Wade); grandchildren, Cameron, Kristyn, Brody, Dawson and Spencer; brother, Winston (Pat) and sisters Florence Endendijk and Darlene (Rick) Pye; sister in-law, Jenny MacPhee and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Jamie, brother in law John Endendijk. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 1-4pm Saturday, June 24 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. A Private family committal service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, East Stewiacke. Donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Critical Care Teams, both at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro and the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax.
