I am sorry to hear that Aunt Blanche passed. It is sad that the "baby" is gone. She and her siblings had a tenacity for life. I did not know her well but many folks from that generation really influenced my life.

Thank you, Blanche for being a great grandmother to me. I have very fond memories of staying in Grand Pre with you and Charlie when I was a kid. You were always kind and I have remembered that always. So much so that I gave the name Blanche as a middle name to my daughter, Poppy in your honour. It was very timely that I was sitting with my daughter while she was wrapped up in a blanket which you knit and sent to me when I got the news of your passing. Rest in peace, Blanche and make sure my father and brother don't eat all your pecan pie up there ;)

Aunt Blanche was a great story teller and loved a good laugh, even during the last few years when she couldn't get around very well. We are thankful that her mind and spirit were intact even though her body was not responding as it used to. I'm glad we got to visit her this winter and share some of her memories of the "olden days." Bon Voyage to a great lady who will be missed by a lot of people.

So many fond childhood memories. Blanche was a grandmother to my siblings and me. There was always excitement when our Christmas box arrived with cozy flannelette pajamas and knit slippers. So much love in those handmade gifts. I remember as a child visiting Blanche and grandpa in Lakeside and the years they came to visit us in Ontario. It was lovely to visit with her a few times in the last few years and to take her a few of her loved pecan tarts. Rest in peace dear Blanche. Thank you for the sunshine you brought to my life.

Rest in Peace Nana Blanche. I will always remember your visits from Nova Scotia. You always brought me my favourite Tunnocks Snow Balls. And every Christmas a new pair of slippers you knitted. I know my Dad and Mom loved you very much, in fact they gave me your name, Rose. I remember your laugh and how much love you gave us. I hope you're with Grampa now. I will remember you always.

How lucky we were as a family to have Blanche share a loving part of our lives. We always looked forward to her visits with Grandpa. We still reminisce regularly about the impact her love had on us.
She was truly loved by my Dad Frank (deceased) and Mom Ruth Lovell. Sorry we can't be there to pay our respects, but she will forever be in our thoughts.
