Obituary of Harry William Andrews

ANDREWS, Harry William – age 86 of Stewiacke passed away February 12, 2017at the Veterans Memorial Hospital, Halifax. Born in Stewiacke, he was the oldest son of the late Harry and Elsie (Bamford) Andrews.
He was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces Service Corps and served two rotations in the Korean War. Harry served as a peacekeeper in Golan Heights, France, Germany and several bases in Canada. He was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 70. He will be remembered as a gentle, kind man that put the needs of others before his own. His twice daily rounds about town were the bright spot in the day for many people. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his siblings, Alan (Connie), Stewiacke; Richard (Karen), Chalk River ON; Kenneth (Norma) Trenton ON; Stanley (Janice) Airdrie AB; and Janet (Jim), Stewiacke. He was predeceased by siblings, Donald, Elaine, Madelyn and Emma Lou. Special thanks to the staff of 4E Camphill, VMH.
A legion service followed by a reception will be held at 2pm Friday, February 17, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie.
