I had the distinct pleasure of playing piano with Mel at a few Altonator dances several years ago.
Besides, I enjoyed Mel's continuous support of the Kirk Logan Ol Time Fiddling Contest, Mid Musq - he was one of the very few participants that demonstrated a playing style that, sadly, is disappearing.
Mel will be sadly missed by not only his family but by his extended musical family, too.
Please, accept my sincere condolences.
