Obituary of Philomena Genevera Morrison

MORRISON, Philomena “Philly” – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Philomena Genevera Morrison, 62, of Indian Brook. Born in Boston, Mass., USA, Philomena was a resident of her Mi’kmaq community of Indian Brook where she loved to laugh, have fun and spend time with her sister, Liz. Philly had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to get people laughing. Philomena loved her children and grandchildren, loved to spend time with them and was very proud of each of their accomplishments and milestones. Surviving are her best friend and husband of 31 years, Harold Morrison; children, Chasity (Armando) Lucio, Indian Brook; David (Jocelyn) Meuse, Billy-Joe (Claire) Meuse, Membertou; Tabitha (Kenneth) Morrison, Moncton; Harold Morrison, Jr., Indian Brook; her sister, Elizabeth (Anthony) Nevin; godchildren, Mary Margaret Julian, Naomi Thiebaux, of Indian Brook; Nathan Meuse, Bear River; her grandchildren, Justin Stewart, Isaias, Vianey, Shakoye, and Yatae’she, Indian Brook; Savannah Pitre, Bathurst, NB; Riveriah Denny, Rory Meuse, both of Membertou; Memphis Meuse- Paul, Pictou Landing; Libby Meuse, Silas, Casey, Deliah and Parker Marshall, all of Membertou; many nieces and nephews. Philomena was predeceased by her parents, Joseph “Sobey” and Libby Meuse; sister, Linda; brothers, William “Yogi” and Joseph “Junnie” Meuse; grandchildren, Aidan, William, and Baby M. Meuse. Visitation will be in the family home 17 Sesame Street, Indian Brook after 2pm Tuesday, November 8 until time of funeral service 3pm Thursday, November 10 in St. Kateri Church, Indian Brook, Fr. Joseph Thomas officiating. A community meal and Salite will follow in the Multipurpose Centre. Cremation to follow with a private family burial at a later date.
