ANDREWS, Shirley Jean- Stewiacke. Shirley Jean (MacPhee) Andrews passed away in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, October 10, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born in MacPhees Corner on March 12, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Cyril and Lorenah (Pineo) MacPhee. In her lifetime, she loved her family, her teaching career and her church. She had a thirty-three year teaching career, teaching primarily French and English at Hants East Rural High School, from its opening in 1958 to her retirement in 1990. She was a devotee of the Shubenacadie United Church, serving as an elder and as a lifetime member of the UCW. She is survived by her husband, Donald, Stewiacke; daughter, Cheryl Williams, Mill Village; daughter, Christine (Donald) Matheson, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Cory (Leetitia) Williams, Cody Williams and Haley (Ravi) Vaz; great grandson, Linden Vaz; brother, Wilfred (Jane) MacPhee, Kentville; niece, Susan MacPhee; nephew, Colin MacPhee; special cousins, Ruth Farquhar, Halifax; Diane Stoddart, Mill Village; Bernard and Ivan MacPhee, Dartmouth. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Wayne Williams. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Memorial Service will be held 2pm, Friday, October 14 in Shubenacadie United Church, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. A reception will follow the service. Private family interment in Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village. Memorial donations may be made to Shubenacadie United Church.
