Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Wright

WRIGHT, Mary Elizabeth “Betty”, age 89, of Waterford, Connecticut formerly of Upper Nine Mile River entered eternal life on Sept. 26, 2016 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born August 24, 1927 in Walton, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late Percy and Inez (Smith) Sanford. She was united in marriage to Edson Wright on August 10, 1946 in Upper Nine Mile River. They moved to Waterford, Connecticut in 1964. Mary worked as a department manager for the former W.T Grants, retiring after many years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Warwick, Rhode Island. She is survived by three sons, Charles E. (Marilyn) Wright of Groton, Connecticut; Brian P. (Sherry A.) Wright of Stonington; Richard W. (Jacklyn A.) Wright of West Plains, Missouri and daughter, Linda E. (Robert J.) Rys of Uncasville, Connecticut; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Madelon Hennigar of Noel; sisters-in-law, Vera Sanford, Walton and Georgie Sanford, Windsor. She was predeceased by her husband, Edson Wright; brothers, Garth, Ronald and Arthur; brother- in-law Foster Hennigar. Visitation will be held 6-8pm today in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, from where the funeral will be held 11 am Wednesday. An interment will be held in Sand Hill Cemetery, Upper Nine Mile River. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of NS 6331 Lady Hammond Rd., Halifax, NS B3K 2S2.
