ELLIS, Margaret Ethel – age 86, of Stewiacke, passed away peacefully August 11, 2016 in Braeside Home for Special Care. Born Dec.1, 1929 in MacPhee’s Corner, she was a daughter of the late Currie and Florence (Nelson) Singer. Margie was a member of Saint Andrew’s United Church, the UCW, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir. She was a stay at home mom who loved to crochet, knit, do gardening and bake for her family and friends. She was a good mother and grandmother. Margie and Vernon both enjoyed camping and travelling. She is survived by her son, Malcolm (Betty Lou); daughter, Sherry (Ken); grandchildren, Shane (Melinda) Curry, Tracy (Jason) Bethune, Ben Ash, Jeremiah (Marie) Ash, and Daniel (Jessica) Ash; great grandchildren, Rachelle, Emma, Haley, Isaac, Ivy, Jayden, Justin, Lucas, and Grant; brother, Clarence (Sandy); daughter in law, Debbie; sister in law, Shirley Singer; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Vernon; son, Kenneth; sisters, Shirley, Lena, Sheila, Helen, Dorothy, Frances; brothers, Orie, Wilfred, Lawrence, Vernon, and Keith. The family would like to thank caregiver, Mary, the VON, the nurses and staff of Braeside and all others who helped in our mother’s care and well being. Cremation has taken place; no visitation by request. A graveside service will be held 2pm Monday, August 15 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East, Rev. Martin Reid officiating.
