It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cameron “Cam” Grant at the age of 86. Cameron passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 31st surrounded by his family at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. Born in East Gore in 1930, he was a son of the late Elizabeth and Burton Grant. Cameron worked for more than 40 years with the Bank of Nova Scotia starting his career in Kennetcook, at the age of 16 and worked in many places around the world as an international banker and returned to Toronto to work his final years with the bank until retirement. Cameron enjoyed life to the fullest but was happiest spending time with his family and friends playing golf, travelling and having a good game of cards. He is survived by his partner of 35 years, Tony of Toronto; son, John (Ruth) and grandsons Caleb and Isaac of Center Rawdon. He is also survived by his brother Stanley Grant of Las Vegas. He was predeceased by his siblings William Grant, Margaret Powell, Annie McPhee, Frank Grant and Helen Weir. There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, August 21st at 2:00pm in the Rawdon Hills United Church, Upper Rawdon, Rev. Ruth Brown officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Cameron may be made to The Lung Association or the East Gore United Church Cemetery. Donations to the cemetery can be sent in care of Mark Dalrymple, 901 Slate Quarry Road, East Gore, NS B2S 2Z9.
