APPLEBY, Dorothy Evelyn “Dot” –of Halifax, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2016 in The Sagewood, Lower Sackville. Born in Spa Springs, Annapolis County she was a daughter of the late Frank and Blanche (Vroom) Bolser. Dorothy started her career as an administrator for the RCMP and retired from Department of National Defense, Material Traffic Division. She was a sweet selfless person and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting and loved to read. She will be sadly missed by daughters; Leslie (Andrew) Bailey, Dartmouth, Wendy (Robert) Pickrem, Fall River; grandchildren, Kyle Shipley, Lower Sackville, Brooke Shipley, Red Deer, AB, Mitchell Pickrem and Megan Pickrem, Fall River; sister, Mildred Prall, Torbrook Mines, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; brothers, Maxwell, twin brother Donald and Vance in infancy; sisters, Muriel Bolser, Marjorie Hatt, Meda Carter and Myrtle Bolser. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Funeral service will be held 12pm Thursday, June 30 in St. Thomas Anglican Church, 3534 Highway 2, Fall River, Rev. Carl Fraser officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of Sagewood and dear friend Yvette Gagnon for their excellent care. Flowers welcomed, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
