Obituary of Ivan Leroy Preeper

Preeper, Ivan Leroy - 86, of Shubenacadie, passed away on June 5th, 2016 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, Nova Scotia. Born in Lantz, NS, he was a son of the late Kenneth Preeper Sr. and Gladys (Isenor) Preeper. Among his many jobs, he worked in the Elmsdale Boxmill, then as a mechanic, and later an Insurance Appraiser -- all proudly done on a third-grade education. Retired in his final years, he enjoyed hunting with his brother Ken and his boys, fishing, and cultivating his garden. He really loved playing cards with his kids, grandkids, and great grandchildren. He loved his family. In his final days you could find him in the ministry that he believed in as an active Witness of Jehovah, talking to people about his hope of the resurrection. (Revelation 21:4) He is survived by his wife, Angela (Hare); children, David (Wendy), Michael (Angelina), Laura (Barry) Preeper- Butler, Julia (Todd) Preeper- Serblowski, Paul; 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; sister, Floria Preeper Peck; brother, Kenneth Preeper. He was predeceased by his sons, Leonard and Russell. There is no visitation by request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Funeral Service will be held 2pm Saturday, June 11 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Shubenacadie. He will be buried privately, by invitation only, with his sons, in the Dutch Settlement Cemetery. Family flowers only.
