HILCHEY, (LUNN), Barbara Kathleen – With much sorrow and sadness the family of Barbara K. Hilchey of West Gore announces the passing of their much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother on May 25, 2016 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Centre Rawdon, September 25, 1924, Barbara was the youngest of three children of the late John and Ruby (Lively) Lunn. Mum was happiest while spending time with her family. She also enjoyed being outside and watching the birds at her feeders. Barbara is survived by her son, Paul (Melinda); daughters, Wendy (Jim) MacKinnon and Pamela (Rodger) Brown; grandchildren, Dan, Laura, Sarah, Eric, Russell, Ryan and Lindsey; great grandchildren, Sam, Bennett, Wilson, Hinako, Honoka, Vienna and Miranda. Barbara was married to the late A. Irvin Hilchey who passed in 2005. She was also predeceased by infant daughter, Peggy Harriett; sister, Thelma (Sag) Levy and brother, Talmage. The family wishes to especially thank the many home care workers who helped Mum over the years, the VON, the nurses and staff of the Colchester Regional Hospital third floor E Wing, Dr. Locke and Dr. Singh. Arrangements are under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. As per Mum’s wishes, there will be a graveside service at the West Gore Cemetery, 11am Friday, May 27, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. Donations may be made to the Church of Christ (Disciples), West Gore or a charity of choice.
