Jimmy, Peter and Valerie,
So sorry to read of your father's passing, we will all remember him for his humour and kindness.
Every Saturday evening we walked to his meat market on our street and purchase our weeks supply of meat for four dollars.
He will surely be missed around Tim Hortons as he always made his daily visit for breakfast.
Sending sincere condolences to you all.

The Beaver family always looked forward to visiting Garnets meat shop and for his visits to our family home in Elmsdale. I especially remember Garnet saving my life when he dropped in to the house just after i drank a glass of stove oil that my parents kept on the back of our kitchen stove. Garnet pushed spoonfuls of mustard down my throat to make me throw up that nasty stove oil. For a long time after that i would run and hide when I saw Garnet coming! Too little at the time to appreciate the kind deed he had done but didnt hold a grudge for long - it was the twinkle in his eyes that won me over. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the Gilby families. Rest peacefully Mr. Gilby!

Hi Jim and Peter,
Please accept our condolences on Garnet 's passing. To live as long as he did was amazing. We will always remember our conversations when he would be processing our deer meat or when discussing his awesome vegetable garden. He was truly one of a kind and thanks for letting us be part of his life.
