Sheri was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, to Gerald and Ann McDonald on June 22, 1969. Besides her parents she is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Ron; children, Kayla (Kendal) and Derek (Kristen); sisters, Tia McDonald (Mark) and Vicky (Steve) Pynn; mother and father in-law, Lisa and Cor Hoolwerf; brothers- in-law, Dan (Melissa) Hoolwerf and Leo Ryan (Anne); nephew, Colin Hoolwerf; special friends, Janice (Dave) Marshall, Sonya (Dave) Bond-Lively, Vanessa (Grant) Peckford, and Cathy (George) Turner; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Lesley Ryan; aunt, Patricia McDonald; special cousin, Tony Martin; grandparents, Bernard and Mary McDonald; and grandmother, “Nanny Flossie.” Growing up as the oldest sister of four, Sheri was a born-to-be mother. She always put others first and loved to help people. She was known as “Mama Sheri” by many of Kayla and Derek’s friends. She met the love of her life, Ron, at Memorial University in 1988 and they were married on July 25, 1992. They enjoyed sharing the outdoors together through activities like camping and going for walks, and planning cooking nights together to try new recipes. Sheri loved spending as much time as she could in her garden, being surrounded by flowers and butterflies. When it was too cold to be outside, you could find her in the kitchen baking up a storm. Favourite things included Tetley tea, ABBA, Sweet and Salty popcorn, red wine, and the colour yellow.
