SHERMAN, Ada Bernice – age 92, of Lantz, passed away Thursday March 17, 2016 in the QEII Halifax Infirmary Site, Halifax, surrounded by her family. Born in Chipman, NB, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Jessie Northrup. Ada had a passion for gardening, lawn ornaments and cooking. She was an avid clock collector. She had a love for cardinals, she enjoyed raising her family and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ada appreciated a great game of Scat, Christmas and decorations. Ada was married to Gordon for 57 years. She was a devoted mother to Marilyn Creamer, Sooke, BC; Barbara (John) Shields, Enfield; James (Shirley) Sherman, East Dalhousie; Gordie (Marianne) Sherman, Coldstream; and Lynda Sherman, Elmsdale; caring grandmother to her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ada was predeceased by her husband Gordon, daughter Dyanna and granddaughter Deana. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home. As per Ada’s wishes, a private family committal service will take place at a later date. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday March 19, 2016 from 2-4 pm at 1351 Highway 2 Lantz to honour Ada’s memory.
