Obituary of Margaret Eva Kelly

KELLY, Margaret Eva – age 90, of Stewiacke, passed away peacefully on February 29, 2016 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in West St. Andrews, she was a daughter of the late William and Alice (Neill) Kemp. She is survived by her children, Jim (Patricia) Kelly, Vernon (Beverly) Kelly; and family of girls, Margaret (Gerald) Rogers, Muriel (Art) Huelin and Lydia Palmer; grandchildren, James, David and Tony; great grandchildren, Ashley and Matthew; brother, Leslie (Mary-Ann) Kemp, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Walter; grand daughter, Tammy; nephew, Danny; foster daughter, Helen. Margaret was very involved in Girl Guides, her church (UCW) and Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed knitting, visiting and travelling. She was fascinated by, and proud of her British heritage. The family wish to thank the Dr’s, nurses and staff at Townsview for their compassionate care of Mom. Thank you as well to the staff at Colchester East Hants Health Centre Palliative Care and the second floor nurses. Visitation will be held 630-9pm Wednesday, March 2, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie from where a funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, March 3, Rev. Carl Fraser officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home hospitality area. Interment at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to a charity of choice.
