LIGHTLE (Ledwidge), Elizabeth “Betty” – age 73, Enfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the QEII, Halifax Infirmary Site, on December 5, 2015. Born in Carroll’s Corner, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Phalen) Ledwidge. She was a loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, whose family was all-important to her. She loved spending time at the cottage and she had a keen interest in genealogy. She worked at Air Canada for 25 years. She was an active member of the E. H. Horne Preservation Society. Betty is survived by her children, Darrell (Elaine), Dwayne (Stacey); grandchildren, Brad, Erica, Mikaela, Ava; great grandchildren, Laynee, Lily; siblings, Dorothy (Butch), Francis (Debbie), Shirley (Roger), Corrina (Brian), Una; brother in law, Richard McNair; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward (1998); sister, Althea (1999). Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-9pm Tuesday, Dec. 8 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. A funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, Dec. 10 in St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church, Enfield, Father Michael Walsh officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow in the Enfield Fire Hall. A very special thank you to the staff in Unit 7.1 at the Halifax Infirmary for the wonderful care they provided to Mom. Donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the QEII Foundation.
