Obituary of Robert James Lilly

LILLY, Robert James – age 66, Elmsdale, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on December 2, 2015. Born in Gander, NFLD, he was a son of the late Harry and Jean (Reid) Lilly. Bob was a loving, caring family man. He had a wonderful sense of humour and was a renowned practical joker. He was an adoring husband and enjoyed many wonderful friendships. He always took the time to spend with the people around him. Bob was a truck driver throughout his career, having worked in many provinces. He had a passion for old cars. He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne (Marshall); his children, Bob and Sheri; stepchildren, Craig and Terry Dwyer; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, David and Steve; sisters, Helen, Betty and Bev; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Joyce. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held 11am Saturday, December 5, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home hospitality area. No flowers by request. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association.
