NICHOLSON, Floyd Arnold, age 77, Dutch Settlement, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2015 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Perth - Andover, NB, he was a son of the late Jasper and Inez Nicholson. Floyd was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, he was involved with Scouts Canada for 14 years, and coached baseball for a number of years. He enjoyed camping and loved the outdoors. He worked in construction for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beatrice; daughter Joyce Schijns, Stewiacke; son Ron Nicholson, Dartmouth; step-son Carl Kerley, Truro; grandchildren Amanda Nicholson, Halifax; Joseph Schijns, Edmonton and Jason Schijns, Stewiacke; great grandchild Roman Nicholson, Halifax; brother Audbur Nicholson, Moncton; sisters Charlene Jamer, Perth-Andover, NB; Theresa Bauckman, Edmonton and Eileen Escobar, Halifax. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home. Visitation 6-8pm, Thursday with funeral service 2pm, Friday both in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating. Reception to follow. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Floyd may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
