Obituary of Mavis Ailene Brightman

BRIGHTMAN, Mavis Ailene, age 93, Maple Grove, passed away peacefully at home Sunday June 21, surrounded by her loving family. She was a daughter of the late Charlie and Nellie Hennigar. She was active in her community as a member of St. John the Baptist ACW and a founding member of the 4 Points Community Club. She enjoyed her time with the “Red Hat” Ladies. Mavis was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Marie (Avery) Harvey, Perry (Helen) Brightman, Ray (Bonnie) Brightman, Bob (Pat) Brightman, Ronnie (Charlene) Brightman, Randy (Kim) Brightman, Annette Brightman (Randy); grandchildren, Nancy (Randy), Jamie (Mandy), Pamela (Tony), Greg (Julie), Stephanie (Colin), Jordan, Eric, Ainsley, Matthew (Carmen), Shannon (Blair) Taylor (Cody);great grandchildren, Shayna, Josh, Chloe, Paige and Kassi; siblings, Hazel, Pauline, Merna (Leroy) and Ged (Shirley). Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Alfred, and grandson, Shane; daughter-in-law Donna; siblings, Nelson, Vernon, Betty and Blair. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home. Visitation 7-9pm Wednesday, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral service 2pm Thursday, at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Maple Grove, Rev. Lori Ramsey officiating. Interment in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. A reception at 4 Points Hall will follow the interment. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Mavis may be made to St. John the Baptist Church.
