Obituary of Karen Lynn Hamilton

HAMILTON (Wagner), Karen Lynn, RN, It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Lynn Hamilton announces her sudden, untimely passing at her home in Waverley on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the age of 52. Born May 9, 1963 in Happy Valley NL, she was the daughter of Kathleen “Kay” (Veinot) and the late Albert “Abby” Wagner. Karen graduated from the Victoria General School of Nursing in 1983 and spent her nursing career working at the Victoria General and the Halifax Infirmary Hospital sites. Karen was a dedicated and compassionate nurse that continuously touched the lives of many people, including her peers and the people under her care. Karen’s life was filled with joy, energy and passion. She made sure that every minute of every day was devoted to pleasing someone or bettering their life. She took pride in not only her hard work, but in the dedication she had towards her home and garden. Karen blessed her loved ones with her endearing spirit and will always be remembered for her generosity. Karen always valued the time spent helping her son through his life transitions. She also treasured the wonderful weekends spent with her partner Don at the cabin they built together. Karen leaves her beloved son, Logan Hamilton (Jany Blanchard), Halifax; her partner Don Josey, Halifax; her mother Kay Wagner, Milford; her maternal grandmother Verna Tobin, Bridgewater; her brothers Karl (Heather), Shubenacadie and Andrew “Andy” (Rhonda Morrow), Shubenacadie; and a wide circle of wonderful family and friends who adored her. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home. A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. John’s United Church in Fall River, which will be followed by a reception at the same location. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hope For Wildlife, as Karen deeply loved nature and animals.
