MOUNTAIN, Michael Joseph -Age 89, of Cooks Brook. On March 18, 2015, Michael Joseph Mountain of his earthly home on his "Mountain's Mountain", Cooks Brook, Nova Scotia, ascended to heaven, to find peace and serenity, and to join his saintly beloved family members.

Born in Tufts Cove on December 24, 1925, to the late Michael and Annie (Rhodes) Mountain.

He will be missed by his surviving family members, his close friends Pat and Debbie Melvin, Aubrey and Esther MacDonald, and also, many neighbours and other friends that he has made over the years. He was a sweet and endearing spirit and made friends with many.

He always retained his gentle spirit, despite the many hardships he had to overcome in his life. His last years in his home, with his adoring cat Bandit, were years that gave him much happiness and joy. He expressed many times, that "He felt very blessed to have, and be in his home on his "Beautiful Mountain." "His Home was Where his Heart was." He is survived by two of his sisters, Alice Greenland and Florence Freeman of Ontario; his cousin Debbie Tully-Melvin and her husband Patrick Melvin; and many, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: Mary Wiswell (Halifax), Allan Mountain, (Cooks Brook) Jimmy Mountain, (Dartmouth) Isabel Zimmerman, (Midland, Ontario) and Lillian Hardy, (Oakville, Ontario) . A memorial service will be held 11am, Tuesday in St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Enfield, Father Michael Walsh officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall, Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
