MULLIN, Leo Joseph, age 84 -Lantz, formerly of Belnan, passed away January 10, 2015 in the Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in Trout Brook, NB, he was a son of the late Leo and Sarah (McNeil) Mullin. He was a long-time member of St. Bernard's Church and was a lay minister, serving communion during masses. Leo was employed at the Elmsdale Elementary School for many years as a janitor. He enjoyed playing Santa at the Legion and other venues during the Christmas season. Leo was a social person and a great conversationalist. He and his wife Ruth enjoyed dances, especially the ones at the Nine Mile River Community Hall. He was an avid gardener who was blessed with a green thumb. He is survived by his children, Cecilia (Reg) Cox, Middle Musquodoboit, Gordon (Beverly) Mullin, Calgary, AB, Paul (Carolyn) Mullin, Shubenacadie, Francis Mullin, Edmonton, David McCrimmon, Nine Mile River, grandchildren, Adam Mullin, Matthew Mullin, Robert Mullin, Miranda Mullin and Nicholas Cox; brothers Bernard(Pauline) Mullin, Newcastle, NB, Gerald (Ruth) Mullin, Toronto, ON, sisters Veronica Matchett, Mirimichi, Anna Varga, Brantford ON, Frances (Donnie) Barns, Moncton, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth, son Robert Mullin, grandson Christopher Cox, sisters, Mary, Connie and Genieve, brothers Linas, Cyril, Mark and Louis. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday January 15, 2015 in St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Enfield. The committal will follow in the parish cemetery.
