CARD, Kathleen Beatrice "Kay" - 79, Lantz, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2014 in The Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, surrounded by family after battling pulmonary fibrosis for the last six years. Born May 14, 1935, she was a daughter of the late William and Ethel (Soper) Hurshman. Kay was born in Dutch Settlement, she lived in greater Halifax and Mt. Uniacke for nearly forty years while working in Halifax, before returning to the Dutch Settlement area. Kay is survived by her sister Jean (Willard) Hiltz; daughters, Kathy (Arnold) MacBurnie, Calgary; Charlotte (Larry) Mills, Mt. Uniacke ; grandchildren - David Davidson, Christopher MacBurnie, Donald Davidson, Jonathan MacBurnie, step-grandson Stefan Mills and one great-grandson Ethan Davidson. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, George Card, in 2011, her parents Bill and Ethel Hurshman, two brothers Kenneth and Harvey. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Wednesday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, December 4, 2014, in the St. George's Anglican Church, Dutch Settlement, Rev. Patty McKenna officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the VON home care services and the Palliative Care ward of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
