HIGGINS (DEAN), Freda Louise - 73, Lake Egmont, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital. Born in Pickle Crow, Ontario, she was the daughter of Ethel I (Ross) and the late Charles William (Bill) Dean. Freda enjoyed her family, good times with friends, playing the piano, dancing, yellow labs, lambs, a clean house, shopping, winters in Florida, ice cream, scrabble with Aunt Glenda, and crib with Dad, She is survived by her loving and caring husband, Garnet, her daughter Glenda (Paul), and three sons, Danny (Leanne), Michael (Donna) and Garth (Kim). She also had five loving grandchildren, Gaylynn, Dee-ann, Billy, Jackie, and Parker; brothers Gardner (Glenda), Rod (Pam), Dalton (Dorothy) and sister, Martha (Glenn) and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at Ettingers Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie on Tuesday, December 2, 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Gays River United Church at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 3, Rev. Lori Crocker officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to charity of your choice, Mom had special connections with the Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia, the Gays River United Church, and the Musquodoboit Valley Health Foundation.
