Sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you. I remember Mrs. Beattie from PMR. She was my grade 4 teacher and loved her kindness, teaching methods and her humor. She will be missed by many and was loved by more. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this time, but I know her teachings lives on within every student and person she has touched.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Muriel as Mrs. Beattie at PMR, she was my grade four teacher who I will always remember as having a great sense of humour with her students and also a strictness when needed. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.. Thoughts and prayers are with you..Lisa

Muriel has always been special to me. Being an only child, Uncle Guy & Aunt Marie's children were the siblings I never had. Whenever Mum, Dad & I came "home" we would spend time with them. As I got older (and taller than Muriel), I still looked up to her. She was the "organizer" & "fixer." Whether it was a family picnic or funeral arrangements, Muriel was always involved.
After I moved to North Carolina and married Hutch, Muriel and Stan stopped to see us several times when they drove through NC on their way to Florida. We had great times. Hutch and Stan would sit in the living room and talk "guy things" while Muriel and I sat at the dining room table reminiscing.
Muriel always hand wrote, using her infamous peacock-blue ink, a long (think "epistle") letter to us at Christmas that would update us on what was happening with everyone in the family. Although we were separated by miles, I never felt "disconnected" from the family. I still have the 1993 Christmas card in which she enclosed pictures of "Uncle Guy's house" when it was designated a heritage property.
I imagine heaven will be a better place now that Muriel is there. I always loved you, Muriel, and I consider myself fortunate to be a "Faulkner."
Love,
Rhoda
