Obituary of Ruby White

WHITE, Ruby Jean Marie -81, Halifax/Dartmouth, passed away in Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth on May 23, 2014. Born in Halifax, Jean was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Ruby (Schofield) Burns. In 1957 she married Donald M. White, her devoted partner of 54 years. Jean, a swim instructor and coach for more than 40 years, worked with the Halifax Trojans, and the Shearwater Tidalwaves. She followed her mother into nursing at the Victoria General Hospital taking her first post in Middle Musquodoboit, NS. Her great enjoyment was family vacations and in recent years she judged success by the number of mittens she could provide to community shelters. Jean is survived by sons Robert Lee (Bev), Donald George (Lilly); grandchildren Tyson (Amber); Evan and Patrick; great granddaughter Mia. Jean was predeceased by her husband Donald and son Eugene.
