Obituary of Bruce James Withrow

WITHROW, Bruce James – passed away at the age of 62, on Wednesday, January 22^nd, 2025, as a result of a tragic farm accident. Born in Windsor, he was a son of Eloise (Gower) and the late James Withrow.

Bruce was a farmer to the core his whole life. He started chores in the barn with his Dad at age 4 and continued to his last day, passing on his love and knowledge to the next generation. His daughter, Hannah, was the light of his life. From the time she could walk, she was farming with Dad. They enjoyed showing cattle and attending cattle/bull sales to the day before the accident.

Bruce will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 25 years, Cindy (Hilchie); daughter, Hannah (Carter); mother, Eloise; brothers, Bill (Sarah), Brian (Cyndy); cousins, Harold (Christine) Withrow, Ruth (John) Grant; aunt and uncle, Murray and Eileen Barkhouse; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Bruce was predeceased by his father, James and aunt and uncle, Mary and John Withrow.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale.

Visitation will take place from 6-8pm on Sunday, January 26^th, 2025, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. 

The Funeral Service will be held at Ettinger's in Shubenacadie at 2PM Monday, January 27^th, 2025, Rev. Darlene Brewer officating.
