Norma Crouse

Obituary of Norma Josephine Crouse

CROUSE (McLEAN), Norma Josephine – age 84, of Brookfield, formerly Coldstream, passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2025, at Elk Court, Brookfield. Born on February 19th, 1940, in Londonderry, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter to the late Elwin and Ethel (Campbell) McLean.

Norma was a multifaceted woman. She loved to dance, bake, pickle, cook, sewing, making and selling quilts, knitting socks, mittens and many other crafts, although her beautiful flower gardens were her greatest feat.

Norma was never shy to hard work, never refusing any job of any kind. Her working career began at her father’s grocery store, until getting a new job at the school board, where she stayed until her retirement in 2005. Retirement life did not last long, as she promptly got a job at the Stewiacke KFC, with The Don Hay crew, before retiring again, 10 years ago at the age of 75.

Throughout her life, Norma touched the hearts of many and loved surrounding herself with family and friends, especially her girls, Brittany and Kelsie; always giving those she cared for, everything she had.

Norma is survived by daughters, Debbie Adams Crawford, Stewiacke, Gloria Heather Adams, Dartmouth; sons, Donald Kenneth Adams, Edmonton, Bruce Mark Crouse, Coldstream; grandchildren, Brittany (Kerby), Londonderry, Jeremy, Stewiacke, Kelsie, Coldstream, Sam, Ontario, Tim, Dartmouth, Tasha, Dartmouth; 8 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Crouse; sons, Norman, Shane, Perry, Trent; grandson, Stacey Jordan Adams.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, at the West St. Andrews Community Hall, 1880 Coldstream Road, Stewiacke.
