Obituary of Margaret Steeves
STEEVES, Winnifred “Margaret”, age 75, of Mount William, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Winifred (MacPherson) George.
Margaret loved spending time by the pool, playing cards and hosting family gatherings for holidays and special occasions. She had a cake or a sweet treat prepared for any spontaneous visitor. Margaret cherished her grandchildren, she was always keenly interested in their lives and took pride in their accomplishments.
Margaret will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Blaine; son, Al (Kelly) MacLeod; daughters, Dana MacLeod (Hywel Jones) and Erin MacLeod; cherished grandchildren, Holly (Justin Thorne) MacLeod, Ben and Jack MacLeod; Grace and Garrett Nicely; sister, Linda (John) Cornett, chosen sister and best friend, Joyce Fraser; special cousin, Anne Crosby; sister-in-law, Donna (Edward) Hudson, nieces, Susan (Kevin) Cruickshank, Tracey (Eric) Savoie, Susan (Fabian MacLeod) Hudson, Stacey (Eric) Lockhart, Shelly (Tim) McNaught; nephew Stephen (Terri) Hudson, several great-nieces and great nephews, numerous cousins and extended family with whom she kept in touch with also.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Ruth, niece, Kim Hislop and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Blanche Steeves.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 1-4 PM, Saturday, November 30 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, 256 King Street, New Glasgow, from where her funeral will be held 2 PM Sunday, December 1, Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverton Cemetery.
