Obituary of Earl D. McMullen
McMULLEN, Earl Douglas – age 100, of Truro, passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2024, at Wynn Park Villa, Truro. Born in Lake Egmont, he was the last surviving member of his family, a son of the late Hoarce and Jenny (Dillman) McMullen.
Earl was a veteran of the Second World War with honour. Worked in heavy equipment ( bulldozers) with several Nova Scotia companies. Enjoyed his retirement years with all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Earl is survived by children, Carrie (Gerry), Aulay, Barbara (Donnie), Donna (Derek), Charlotte (Blair), Pauline, Nan (Phil), Wendell (Susan), Harry, Valerie (Rick), Brent (Barb), Thomas (John), Susan (Rob); 27 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; daughter-in-law, Valda.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by, his wife, Norma “Joyce” (Hines); sons, Wyman and Randall; grandsons, Lee and Ryan; daughter-in-law, Yvonne; son-in-law, John.
Visitation will be held at 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Monday, October 21st, 2024, at Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Cremation is to follow. A private committal will take place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Earl may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the St. George’s Church, Dutch Settlement.
