ZWAAN, Patricia Anne Mary - of Milford, quietly passed away at home on October 5th, 2024, at the age of 74. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Margaret Sullivan. 

In her early years, she was an avid sailor, tennis player and equestrienne. She attended the fine arts program at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. She was a licensed underwriter for an insurance agency. She also worked as a nurse’s aide, as an animal caregiver at a shelter and as a milk parlour attendant. She and her husband were foster parents to many children whom they loved and cared for as their own. She loved her horses and all the animals on her hobby farm, affectionately called “The Hill”.  After retirement she took up taxidermy. She will also be remembered for delivering the local flyers with treats for the many pets on her routes.

Patricia is survived by her children, Daniel Roddick (Christie), Michelle Roddick (Lawrence), Aaron Zwaan, Kaitlin Zwaan (Mike) as well as her extra daughter and dear friend Cherrie Wright; grandchildren, Sean, Matthew, Logan, Steven, Nick, Mike, Shay, Daniel, Olivia, Harper, and great granddaughter Nylah. 

Besides her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Volkert Zwaan; and grandson, Liam Roddick.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Homes, Shubenacadie and Elmsdale. No service by request.
