Kathryn, Family and friends, my condolences on the passing of my long time client and friend Dave.I first meet Dave as I was starting my accounting practice in Calgary. We immediately connected, his sharp mind, positive attitude and enthusiasm was contagious.Over the years we had many business venture and adventures, Dave with his airplanes and me with the mountains.I suppose having different or unusual hobbies and passions brought us together. I have a long list of phone numbers and addresses for Dave as he never really stayed in one place very long. When he called I would always ask where are you? I don't ever recall Dave criticizing anyone or feeling sorry for himself if something didn't work out. As Dave said in his Book of Something, "Life is determined by how you react to issues. A positive mental attitude is often all you need to make it more enjoyable". We spoke only a few weeks ago and he was still full of ideas and enthusiasm. I often start my day by reading a page out of his "Book of Something" , I am so glad you left us with 128 pages to help remember you. To quote a famous poem , "O,h! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth and dances the skies on laughter silvered wings". I will miss you my friend.
